Psychotherapy & Consultation

Attachment and embodied psychotherapy create an experience where you can come into a deeper and more harmonious relationship ~ with all parts of yourself, with others, and with the living world around you, allowing you

to become more of who you really are.

Embodied Relational Psychotherapy

“Our nervous systems (along with our belly and heart brains) are always asking, “Are you with me?” – Steven Porges

Relational, somatic and imaginal approaches to psychology invite us to look deeply into ourselves, our lives, habits, patterns, choices, and desires. This process takes shape through our therapeutic relationship, and through careful listening and responding to language, the body, dreams, behavior, ideas, and an active relationship to the imagination.

How I Approach Our Psychotherapy Work

I offer tangible avenues to help reduce anxiety, heal from traumatic experiences, and mobilize the unbroken life intelligence that exists within each of us.

For many years I have trained in, and personally experienced, working with dreams and images, trauma and intergenerational trauma, somatic-body oriented psychotherapy, nervous system regulation, attachment theory (interpersonal neurobiology) and embodied focusing oriented psychotherapy. These theories and inquires are research based, but they are also deeply experiential in practice. We now have a better understanding of how relationship patterns develop and end up influencing our lives. And we have a better sense of the how trauma (especially developmental trauma: childhood physical, emotional, sexual, and psychological abuse, grief, loss, chaos, and addiction) impacts the brain, our sense of self, our life-force energy, and our sense of belonging.

I believe that when we are accompanied in our experience and together practice deep listening – to ourselves (body, heart, mind and soul), to others, and to nature around us – we not only develop more compassion for how we have learned to adapt, but we can begin to hear and trust the unbroken intelligence within us that knows exactly what we need. I look forward to being your mentor and alongside you on your journey.

Consultation for Therapists and Helping Professionals

I have worked with therapists and other helping professionals for years when they have needed personal or professional support. I offer a safe and honest place to be vulnerable. Together we will bring curiosity to what you are experiencing so that you may explore what is creating uncertainty, fear, judgment, or overwhelm in your work. Please contact me if you are a therapist, body worker, or other healing professional and you would like to receive support, understanding, and clarity in the work you are doing.

A Prayer for our time together:

Let us tend what needs tending, love what needs to be loved, hear what needs to be heard, release what needs to be released, feel what needs to be felt, support what needs supporting, move what needs to be moved, see what wishes to be seen, hold what needs to be held, understand what needs understanding, create what wishes to be born. May all parts of you know that they are welcome and may you come to know that you are enough.
